“I am honored to be part of the J.L. Weigand family. J.L.’s goal of establishing this community has provided a marked benefit to both the state of Kansas and the lives of the Weigand scholars. I will strive to live up to the example set by J.L. and the rest of the incredible Weigand community, both while in law school and in my professional career.”

Ben Rogers graduated summa cum laude from Kansas State University, earning a dual major in Electrical Engineering and Finance with Honors. His interdisciplinary education reflects a commitment to intellectual excellence, a quality that naturally led him toward the study of law.

Raised in Gardner, Kansas, Ben actively participated in 4-H, competitive shooting sports, speech and debate, baseball, and music as a drummer throughout high school, while simultaneously completing dual-credit coursework through Johnson County Community College. During high school, he also interned at the Kansas State Legislature, where he gained firsthand exposure to public policy and the legal process.

At Kansas State University, Ben was a member of the K-State Risk Management Center, the Engineering Leadership and Innovation Program, the Catholic Household of Chi Rho, and the Kansas State Cat Band, where he played the drumset. Ben was honored to be the champion of the 2025 Koch Risk Management Challenge, a member of the Quest Freshman Honorary and the Koch Scholars Program, and on the Dean’s List each semester. Ben served as a Teaching Assistant for multiple electrical engineering classes and worked as a Research Assistant for the electrical engineering department during his senior year.

During his summers at K-State, Ben completed a range of internships, working as an engineering intern at the K-State Technology Development Institute, a Cost Engineer intern at Garmin, and as a Technical Analyst intern at Erise IP.

Ben will begin law school at the University of Notre Dame in the fall of 2026.

“From growing up in 4-H to going to Kansas State University, Kansas has always been my home. I desire to make Kansas a better place and be a contributing member of my professional community.”
