After graduating from Washburn Rural High School in 2009, Bobby Chipman stayed in Topeka and attended Washburn University. While Bobby was at Washburn, he was involved in many activities on campus. He was a Senator for the student government association and a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Beta Alpha Psi (Accounting Honors Society), and the Leadership Institute. He participated in these activities all while of playing for the Ichabod basketball team.

Bobby earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, double majoring in Accounting and Management, and minoring in Leadership Studies. Bobby graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.63 grade point average and was also selected as the 2013 Student-Athlete of the Year. This award is given to the student athlete at Washburn who excels in their sport, academically, and in the community. Also during Bobby’s senior year, he orchestrated basketball camps in Kansas, Sweden, and Denmark as part of his leadership internship.

Bobby spent a summer interning at PwC, one of the Big Four accounting firms in Kansas City before continuing his education at Washburn University School of Law. Once at law school, Bobby’s work ethic led to academic success as he has received top paper in Legal Analysis, Research & Writing (LARW) I; LARW II; Taxation of Individual Income; Taxation of Business Enterprises; Tax Policy Seminar; Taxation by State & Local Governments; Health Care Law & Policy; and Energy Regulation.  He is also a staff writer for the Washburn Law Journal and has a leadership position in both the Business & Transaction Law Society and the Tax & Estate Planning Law Society. Bobby is also very involved with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program at Washburn Law that helps low income individuals file their taxes without any expense.

Bobby graduated from Washburn’s dual degree program where he earned his M.B.A. and J.D. simultaneously. Bobby graduated with a 3.83 g.p.a. (magna cum laude) and was 2nd in his class. He also graduated with distinction and a 4.0 g.p.a. in the MBA program.  Bobby became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Missouri in 2017. Bobby spent his 1L summer as a law clerk for the boutique business and tax law firm of Newbery, Ungerer, & Hickert LLP in Topeka.  Bobby spent his 2L summer at Polsinelli in Kansas City and went on to work for Polsinelli as a corporate associate in its Kansas City and Los Angeles offices.
