Since 1992, Jon has been involved with the United States Army and the Army Reserves. His experience includes being a heavy equipment operator in Panama, a Finance and Accounting Sergeant in Fort Drum, N.Y. and Denver, CO. His long list of military awards include a Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, two National Defense Service Medals , a Humanitarian Service Medal and more!

While attending Pittsburg State University, Jon earned a spot on the All A Scholastic Honors list, was the drag racing track champion in the Sportsman division 2005. He has also served as the Vice-President of the Pittsburg State University Philosophy Club.

Jon appreciates the Kansas community for his family. “After a decade of traveling across the United States and even living in Panama, when it was time for me to leave the military, my wife and I decided Kansas had the family values we wanted for our children.”
