Mary Mason grew up in Shawnee, Kansas. She attended college at Ave Maria University in Southwest Florida where she was heavily involved in campus life. Mary ran Cross Country, was on the Beach Volleyball team, was Chair of the President’s Council, founder of the Voting Club, a Resident Assistant, and leader of the Daughters of God household. While at Ave, Mary was awarded the Pier Giorgio Frassati award, Female Athlete of the Year, Sun Conference Champion of Character, Newcomer of the year, Senior Athlete of the Year, and the Gyrene of the Year Award.

After graduating summa cum laude with a double major in Politics and Theology, Mary decided to attend the University of Kansas school of law that way she could move back closer to her family while pursuing her legal education. At KU, Mary has ranked consistently in the top 10% of her class and has earned CALI awards in Lawyering Skills I, Torts, and Contracts. She was also given the Payne and Jones Award for Best Advocate for Lawyering Skills II.

During school, Mary worked as an intern for Bright & Carpenter Consulting where she was able to work in depth with the Kansas Legislature. In her 1L summer, Mary was a summer associate at Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitchi in Wichita. During her 2L year, Mary has served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Crabtree and as a Voluntary Income Tax Assistance volunteer. Beyond school, Mary gave birth to her son in October of her 2L year. After her 2L year, Mary will work as a summer associate at Armstrong Teasdale in their Kansas City office. Mary now resides in De Soto, Kansas with her husband and son.
