Molly is from Shawnee Mission, Kansas. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.  She was a member of the Women’s Soccer team and is a 2010 National Champion.  

In the summer of 2017, Molly interned in the appellate unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Missouri.  Two of the briefs she drafted were argued in the 8th Circuit.  She was named to the Honor Roll for the Spring/Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 semesters.  She received the Faculty Award for Excellence in Family Law and Jurisprudence.  

She worked at Shook, Hardy, & Bacon for the summer of 2018.  She was managing senior editor of the Journal of Law, Ethics, and Public Policy, and participated in Notre Dame’s new Wrongful Conviction Externship. 

During her 3L year at Notre Dame, Molly participated in an externship at the Exoneration Project at the University of Chicago.  

After graduation, Molly served as a term law clerk to the Honorable Daniel D. Crabtree in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas.

Currently, she is an attorney at Loevy & Loevy, a civil rights law firm, where she litigates wrongful conviction cases in state and federal court. 


I am honored to have been named as a Weigand Scholar.  The Trust has provided more support than I ever expected, and I am grateful for all the time and effort the trustees and the alumni devote to this organization.  I hope to make the Weigand Trust proud.
