Roarke Gordon joined the Weigand family as a a third-year student at Washburn University School of Law. He consistently ranked in the top 10% of his class, and was a staff member of the Washburn Law Journal from 2004 to 2006. Roarke served as an editor for the Law Journal as well as a teaching assistant for Washburn’s Legal Research and Writing class.
Roarke’s comment, “You Ride With ‘Em, You Die With ‘Em” – A Look at Maryland v. Pringle and the United States Supreme Court’s Implementation of Probable Cause by Association [Maryland v. Pringle, 124 S. Ct. 795, 540 U.S. 366 (2003)], was published by the Journal.
Roarke obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Minor in Psychology from the University of Kansas in 2003. He was a member of the Business School Honor Roll and received several scholarships and recognitions for his leadership and academic excellence. While at KU, Roarke was honored by his fellow students by being elected either class President, or Vice-President all four years. Additionally, he served the Greek community as President of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, as well as Vice-President of Administrative Affairs and Chief Justice of the Judicial Board for KU’s Inter-Fraternity Council.
Roarke has established experience at several Wichita law firms. While clerking summers at Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson, & Kitch, L.L.C., Roarke assisted in planning and presenting a seminar for accountants and estate planners regarding Circular 230, a federal regulation concerning professional tax advice.
Roarke’s accomplishments carry over to his charitable contributions. Roarke has organized several philanthropic events in which he raised money for various charitable organizations including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Habitat for Humanity.
Roarke joined Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitch in 2006 and became a Member in January of 2011.
