Wyatt Carter, a native of Syracuse, KS, joined the Weigand family following his first year of law school. His dedication to academic rigor has been consistently showcased as he stands among the top 5% of his class. This unwavering commitment was likewise evident during his undergraduate journey at Washburn University, where he completed his degree in Political Science with a perfect 4.0 GPA, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Wyatt’s journey into the legal field commenced during his undergraduate years when he served in Kansas-based law firms, including Zimmerman and Zimmerman, P.A., and Stevens and Brand, LLP. These experiences offered him valuable industry exposure and insights into the practical aspects of law.
Beyond academics and work, Wyatt was actively involved in various extra-curricular activities. He held several leadership positions, serving as the Vice President of the Mock Trial team, and the President of the Interfraternity Council. He was also a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and the Pre-Law Society, where he served as Vice President.
Wyatt’s consistent hard work and leadership were recognized multiple times throughout his undergraduate career. He was honored as the Greek New Member of 2020, named as an Ichabod of Honor, and inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
As he progressed into law school, Wyatt earned top paper in his Legal Research and Writing class, a testament to his exceptional legal scholarship. His first-year law summer was spent as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Fernando J. Gaitan, Jr. at the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and as a Summer Associate at Littler Mendelson, P.C., where he continues to grow his professional acumen.
In the years to come, Wyatt Carter, with his proven academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to the law, aspires to make a significant impact on the Kansas legal community.
After working his second-year summer at Polsinelli in Kansas City, he accepted post-graduate employment to begin fall, 2025.
